Stefano Arienti answers questions from
Irina Zucca Alessandrelli, curator of the Ramo Collection

What is your relationship with drawing and Italian art history of the last century?

I don't have a background in art studies. I practically cannot draw from life freehand, as was required in traditional academies, although I can still do something. Instead, I have learned many graphic techniques that trace or transform analog or digital images, even developing my own techniques.

It is not only about me, but it is a path that has characterized the entire twentieth century, although perhaps it does not characterize the Italian one more.

Why did you choose this work by Luciano Fabro?

I was uncertain between a beautiful work by Munari and this one by Fabro, in the end I chose Fabro because it includes a human figure, which is also a bit of his self-portrait.
